When to Get Started

Even though there is no specific age when children first need to see an orthodontist, the American Association of Orthodontics recommends that they start with their teeth being checked by the age of seven. Traditional Metal Braces

Straightening teeth using metal braces is a very common practice. With brackets and wires, teeth are gradually repositioned until they are in the correct alignment. Once the braces are bonded to the teeth, your child will periodically visit the dentist’s office so that we may inspect their bite and adjust the braces as needed to continue straightening the teeth. Braces may be used to correct gaps, overcrowding, and mild to severe cases of misalignment. 

Invisalign® for Teens

The Invisalign system offers a discreet approach to teeth straightening, without the need for brackets and wires. Instead, our guests are provided with a series of clear, plastic trays that are custom-created to fit their teeth. The aligners must be worn for 22 hours each day and are removable for eating meals and brushing or flossing teeth. Over time, the aligners shift teeth into the correct position, just like braces! Invisalign is better suited for teenagers, since children’s mouths are still growing, making it less likely that this treatment will yield predictable results.
